After our games on Days 1 and 2 of the UK Games Expo (see previous posts), we made sure we were there for the opening on the final day. The exhibitors are mainly spread across two halls, and although we had been there two days already we had yet to really see one hall.
We saw an excellent board for Bolt Action by Warlord Games that looked to be based on Brécourt Manor and was built for a charity game raising money for the National Kidney Federation. The photo below shows the details.
The majority of the day was spent with the traders and exhibitors, buying games that will soon be played in the club. Games we purchased included figures and rules for Dead Man’s Hand by Great Escape Games, rules for 7TV by Crooked Dice and Undaunted: Battle of Britain by Osprey Games. We are really excited to get these games on the table soon.
Another great thing about UKGE is you get to see some games that are in development and speak to the team hoping to bring their project to life in the near future. One of these was Good Dog, Bad Zombie by The TESA Collective. This is an original and unique game where you play a series of dogs after a zombie apocalypse who are guiding humans to the safety of ‘Central Bark.’ This will be available soon.
We found out after the event that over 69,000 tickets were sold for UKGE this year. We had a fantastic time and will certainly be attending next year.
If you attended we’d love to hear about your experiences, and if you have a game you want to try, let us know.
Thanks for reading.
