UPDATE 01/07/2024
This last weekend saw the big push to get the old club empty and everything moved over to the new location. It was a strange feeling looking at the old club empty after it being our home for over 20 years. We've had some great memories there and rolled a lot of dice!
But all good things do come to an end and we're moving so the club can continue for another 20 years, with more memories to be made by more members.
The ceiling is now in and looking great and the lights are working. We're now on with building the table, but this leads to the next big debate between members, what should the first game played on them be? We'll have at least eight tables in the new club so will be able to have more games running at once.

UPDATE - 16/06/2024
Another weekend and another whirlwind of activity with moving from our old venue to the new one. Members split into two groups for the majority of the activity. The first group were in the old club sorting out the myriad of boxes acquired over 20 years of calling the place home. Some have been used more recently than others, but some have not, meaning it was quite a dusty job, hence the face covers (they aren't off to rob a bank in the old west, honest!).
Speaking of dusty jobs, the second team were over in Huddersfield taking down a suspended ceiling that had kindly been donated to us. Two van loads, a trip to Home Bargains to buy emergency supplies, and a questionable Tikka wrap later, the ceiling was down, transported, and moved into the new club. THe next job is getting it back up in the air in the new place.
Also this weekend, the painting has continued. The main room is now looking good after three coats, so the focus has moved to the two store rooms. Both are looking better after a lick of paint.
